Dr. Emily Giroux is a graduate of Creighton University School of Dentistry and the three-year Prosthodontics Program at the University of Michigan School of Dentistry.  She is board certified by the American Board of Prosthodontics. Dr. Emily has been in practice since 2007 and took over her father’s practice full time in 2018 when he retired.  Dr. Emily was a clinical faculty member at the University of Michigan School of Dentistry. She is currently an adjunct clinical faculty member at University of Detroit Mercy and New York University Langone where she teaches dental students and residents.

Dr. Giroux cares deeply about her patients and their outcomes.  She is up-to-date on the latest techniques, products and procedures.  Her goal is long lasting, long term restorations rather than short term solutions.  Dr. Emily possesses a surgeon’s precision and an artist’s sensibility, so her restorations combine the best fitting product with the most natural appearance. Dr. Giroux works with other specialists, when needed, to provide complementary dental procedures.

Dr. Giroux is a member of the American Dental Association, the Michigan Dental Association, the Macomb Dental Society and is a Fellow of the American College of Prosthodontists.

Dr. Emily calls Clarkston home, where she lives with her husband and their daughter.  In her free time, she enjoys reading, gardening, art projects, biking and traveling.

History of Practice

What is Giroux Prosthodontics and General Dentistry today began as the practice of Dr. Michael Meskin in the 1960’s.  Dr. Ronald Spezia joined the practice after dental school in 1969. It was one of the first practices in Sterling Heights.  Dr. Thomas Giroux graduated from the University of Detroit Dental School in 1974 and joined the practice. A few years later Dr. Meskin left to pursue other interests.  Dr. Thomas Giroux and Dr. Spezia worked together for many years building the practice as the Sterling Heights community grew. Dr. Spezia retired in 2008 and Dr. Emily Giroux, Dr. Tom’s daughter, joined the practice part-time in 2007.  In 2018 Dr. Tom retired and Dr. Emily assumed the responsibility for the practice. Through the years we have provided high quality, affordable dental care and are treating our third generation of patients. Most of our staff, we are proud to say, have been here for at least 15 years.  This makes a comfortable and familiar atmosphere for our patients.

Although we have gone through many changes throughout the years, our number one priority has always been the same – our patients!
